Roman Leal is a serial entrepreneur, with over 10 years of experience in product, operations and strategy in social networking, education and financial technology sectors.Roman is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Leap Partners I, a venture fund founded to connect and invest in the most talented founders across the Americas. Prior to Leap, Roman was a Co-Founder and CEO of

QueSee, a social learning platform for Latinos.

Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Roman served a variety of roles in Financial Technology and Financial Services, most recently at PayPal and Goldman Sachs. At PayPal, Roman co-led the next-gen financial services, digital currencies and P2P strategies, where he collaborated on market strategy, business development and product. At Goldman, Roman covered the Financial Technology sector and he was one of the founding members of the Emerging Technology Research and Payment Processing Around the World platforms, where he advised several technology startups on market and product strategy across multiple industries and countries.

Roman has a degree in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley.

Leticia Jauregui is a Venture Partner at LEAP Global Partners, where she helps source top investment opportunities in Mexico across fintech, digital insurance and SaaS. Leticia is a renowned socialpreneur. She is currently focusing on disruptive innovation and strategy as a consultant to companies in Mexico and the U.S. through LMJC Advisory Services. In 2008, Leticia founded Crea (www.crea.org.mx ) that trains & advises low-income women micro and small entrepreneurs in marginalized communities to strengthen & grow their businesses. To date, Crea has worked with over 160,000 women, benefiting them and close to 500,000 members of their families and communities. Leticia is very active in the LatAm entrepreneurial scene. She was recently a Co-Founder and CEO of Maquina, LatAm’s first insurtech and pensions innovation lab.

Leticia also served as the Community Ambassador of Singularity University in Mexico and is a Co-Founder of Impact Hub Mexico City (mexico city.impact hub.net) that provides a unique platform for collaboration for high impact entrepreneurs in Mexico by giving them access to a dynamic workspace and a network of local and global contacts and resources. Prior to that, Leticia founded Tishi (http://tishi.mx/), an innovative electronics brand and e-commerce platform.

Leticia has received multiple awards and recognition for her work as an entrepreneur, including being named one of the most powerful women in Mexico by Forbes, receiving an Echoing Green Fellowship, a GLG Social Impact Fellowship and a membership to the Global Shapers Community of the World Economic Forum. She’s a graduate of ITAM, in Mexico City, the University of California, Davis and Singularity University.

Daniel Coppel Co-Founded and is a Venture Partner at LEAP Global Partners, where he helps to identify and invest in top entrepreneurs in Mexico. In addition, he focuses on connecting LEAP portfolio companies to Latin America investors and companies. Daniel is also Head of Koval VC; his family-office venture capital fund and sits on the Innovation and eCommerce boards of Grupo Coppel, Latam’s biggest retail and financial services provider to the underbanked.

Daniel has a passion for developing the technology entrepreneurship ecosystem in his native state of Sonora, Mexico. He has founded and directs KOLAB, an Innovation & Sustainability Social Impact Fund. KOLAB has invested and helped built startups like FeX, a placemaking company that created and manages Parque La Ruina, a cultural and social hot spot in the city of Hermosillo, HOVER a Venture Builder, that has played an important role in the soft landing of Dev.f Hermosillo, a KOLAB portfolio company that is one of Latams leading and fastest growing EdTech platform.

Daniel enjoys the outdoors specially the sea of Cortez and its surrounding locations, where he and his family are big supporters of local communities and conservation efforts.

Daniel Graduated from Tec de Monterrey with a Degree in Entrepreneurship.

Roberto Aguayo is a Venture Partner at LEAP Global Partners, where he helps source and analyze investment opportunities in marketplaces and SaaS technologies. Roberto is on the Board of Grupo Unita – his family office which operates several businesses, including Caffenio – one of the largest coffee distributors/retailers in Mexico. Roberto started his entrepreneurial journey early only. At the young age of 18, Roberto co-founded MJR Alimentos, a food company that gave specific food niche services to big enterprises like OXXO (LatAm’s largest convenience store retailer). He is also the Co-Founder of Fairplay – a sports complex company based in Mexico, with two active complexes in the State of Sonora Mexico and more in the works.

Roberto graduated from the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) with a Degree in International Business and is part of the 2021 MBA Class for UT Austin’s McCombs School.

Lorenzo is a Venture Partner at LEAP Global Partners, where he helps source and analyze investment opportunities in fintech, including credit technologies, payments technologies and B2B solutions. Lorenzo is an experienced investor and operator. He currently leads Grupo Financiero BASE’s (financial institution) strategy, new digital venture and tech team, helping accelerate the bank’s digital transformation of each core business unit.

Lorenzo was previously part of the Investment Team at Alta Ventures Mexico Fund I (one of the first active VCs in Mexico). He participated in early ecosystem development activities, closing the of the Fund, sourcing and diligence of 17 investments, and adding value to 5 portfolio companies. He had the opportunity to move into one the first B2B sales position at one of the fund’s portfolio companies, and after a few years lead the sale of the company to a competitor as COO/interim CEO.

Lorenzo began his career as a management consultant at SINTEC (a regional firm in LatAm) and participated in business strategy, distribution channels and GTM definition, general ops/process optimization and supply chain strategy projects for Fortune 500 companies in Mexico. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in Mechanical Engineering. He is very passionate about helping entrepreneurs, technology, banking, and sales. He loves skiing and playing tennis.
